Glock Entrenching Tool (feltspade) test

This is the ultimate entrenching tool on the market. The entrenching tool above all entrenching tools... Period!

The Glock entrenching tool (also called an e-tool) is nothing less than a brilliant piece of equipment. It stands out especially for its low weight combined with incredible strength. The blade is made of coated steel, so it does not rust, and the telescopic handle is made of polymer with very high breaking strength.

Are you a scout, outdoor enthusiast, bushcrafter, or otherwise interested in nature activities? Then this entrenching tool is perfect. My old military entrenching tool now just collects dust in the closet, and the likelihood of it being used again is very small... The Glock entrenching tool (e-tool) has taken the favorite spot in my backpack. With its modest size of just 26 cm and 750 grams folded in its case, it is really easy to carry. The old entrenching tool weighed almost one and a half kilos. I use my Glock entrenching tool quite a lot when I’m out in nature. Personally, I really enjoy cooking with a Dakota Fire Hole, and it is very well suited for that! If you need to make an earth refrigerator or dig a toilet, it is also perfect.

The Glock entrenching tool replaces your folding saw in the forest - boom!

Forgot your folding saw? - no problem, the Glock entrenching tool replaces that too. The telescopic handle has a built-in saw. It works really well since you have the entire long handle to hold with both hands. The cap at the end of the handle is unscrewed and the saw is taken out, flipped, and screwed back on with the cap—voila, now you have a super good saw for making firewood or cutting poles for pioneering tasks. Unfortunately, there is no plug included to close the hole in the handle if you choose to save weight by removing the integrated saw. If you do that anyway, you have a hole down into the handle.

Glock entrenching tool as a snow shovel in the car

In winter, it’s really smart to have a snow shovel in the car. Often snow comes suddenly, and you may not have prepared the trunk with a snow shovel, warm blankets, and whatever else you should have for an emergency. The Glock entrenching tool takes up no space and weighs nothing in a trunk, so there’s no excuse not to have it with you. Other traditional snow shovels take up significantly more space and therefore don’t stay in the car because they take up too much room.

Glock entrenching tool and other functions

Shovel, scoop, and pick with either a long or short handle—these are the four settings you can choose from. If you need to dig straight down, the shovel function with the long handle is obviously the best. If you need to make a hole between two holes, for example a Dakota Fire Hole, either the scoop or pick function with the short handle is preferable. The integrated saw can be used as a flathead screwdriver, which can be very handy occasionally.

The Glock entrenching tool gets a rating of 5/5!
