Sleeping Pads
A good sleeping pad is important for your night's sleep. First and foremost, it needs to be the right size to fit you. If it’s too small, you’ll end up hanging off the edge of the pad, which can quickly ruin your experience.
In winter, you need a sleeping pad with a high R-value
The R-value determines how well it insulates. The higher the R-value, the better. A sleeping pad with an R-value of 4 insulates better than one with a value of 1. If you’re unsure which one to choose for your next trip, feel free to call. Customer service is always ready to help you.
Are you unsure about R-value and what it means?
Here you’ll find a guide about R-Value
How thick should a sleeping pad be?
It depends a lot on how soft you want to lie. It’s no secret that the thicker it is, the softer you will lie. However, thickness doesn’t necessarily determine how well your sleeping pad insulates against cold from below. It depends more on the technology and materials it’s made from. Often, a thick sleeping pad also has a higher R-value than a thin one. So if you want to be fully prepared and use it year-round, you should choose one of the thick ones.
How much space does the sleeping pad take up when packed?
Pack volume is always something you should care about. Space in your backpack should always be prioritized, because if you run out of it, you might not have room for food, water, extra clothes, and other important items. Most of the sleeping pads you find here in the shop are optimized to take up as little space as possible. This is something we care a lot about, and you should too.
