This Ridgerest Solite sleeping pad is Therm-a-rest’s new version of their classic Ridgerest Solar.
One advantage of this type of foam sleeping pad, compared to an inflatable one, is that it doesn’t puncture.
That means you can use it anywhere, even in rougher terrain.
It is also perfect for taking a sitting break, as it unfolds quickly and rolls up just as fast.
We often bring it on a regular trip to the forest with children, where there might be a need to rest.
Therm-a-rest - Ridgerest Solite naturally takes up more space than most inflatable sleeping pads, but it weighs very little, only 400g.
You can definitely use it as a regular sleeping pad, but it is also great as an extra insulating layer in winter, between you and your regular sleeping pad. Besides keeping you even warmer, it also provides extra comfort.
It works best if you face the reflective side towards yourself.
