Yes, Glock makes pistols and knives. If you have been in the military, you definitely know this field shovel.
The one you see in the picture has been my personal one for well over 10 years. I still haven’t managed to break it.
I am, and I can say this with my hand on my heart, never ever going out without this in my backpack. If you bring a field shovel on your trip, you can ALWAYS live up to the "Leave No Trace" motto. There are plenty of pictures further down.
Examples of what I have used my Glock field shovel for over time
Sweat lodge project. Sand had to be dug up and placed around the plastic to keep it in place. At the same time, the hot stones had to be carried into the sweat lodge – the field shovel was used for all of this.
Dakota fire hole (read more about it here) and look... the field shovel in front of me. An older picture by now :)
Cooking on a Dakota firehole. I didn’t have a grill with me, so I just used fresh green sticks. You can do that too.
Psssst.... if you want to learn more about Dakota Firehole, you can read about it here.
