The Campstove complete kit from BioLite uses the heat from BioLite's woodstove and the coolness from the fan on the side of the woodstove to generate electricity through what is called the Seebeck effect. The Seebeck effect requires a heat difference to generate electricity, and it gets that difference from the aluminum tube in your woodstove that captures the heat, and the fan outside that generates the coolness, creating the difference that makes the Seebeck effect generate electricity..
