Longbow with Arrows - Core Archery - Set
The set with a longbow and arrows is a complete affordable solution. It is ideal for beginners, both children and adults, depending on the length you choose. Can be used by both right- and left-handed users.
Archery can be practiced as a sport and a hobby, and some masters also go on longbow hunting (a difficult discipline).
The bow and arrow set is an easy and convenient way to start archery, as you get the necessary equipment in one package.
Historically, the invention of the bow has been one of humanity’s most important achievements, as it has played a crucial role in our survival.
The first hunters hunted with, for example, spears, but taking down an animal with a spear requires getting close, which is often dangerous.
The bow has allowed us to take down even large animals from a safe distance, thus exposing ourselves to less risk.
The longbow is one of the bows we know from the Stone Age.
It takes patience to master the art of shooting with bow and arrow, but it is also a fun and rewarding activity.
Here are 5 useful tips to get started well with shooting a longbow:
-Stand correctly
Stand sideways to the target, and do not move your feet during shooting.
-How to place the arrow on the bowstring:
The arrow should sit about 1/2 cm above the center of the bowstring. The bow is tilted slightly, with the top away from the hand holding the bow itself, so the arrow does not easily slip off the hand, giving you better control.
-Draw the bow:
First, pull the arrow back the same distance every time. Find a consistent anchor point, whether it is the ear, corner of the mouth, or eyebrow is not so important, just do the same every time, and of course choose what works best for you.
The arm that pulls the arrow (and bowstring) back should pull straight back horizontally. Use your back and arm muscles, and remember to engage your core (abdomen and lower back).
-How to aim and shoot with your longbow:
Aim with both eyes open, so you can better judge distance.
Look at the target, not the arrow. When you release the arrow, quickly extend both fingers and hold your position until the arrow hits the target.
-The mental aspect when shooting with a bow (it means more than you think).
Believe in it! Imagine hitting exactly where you want, that the arrow follows the path you choose, and hits its target. Visualize the whole process, then let your body do the work.
Enjoy, and remember: Practice makes perfect :)
