Therm-a-rest - Vela Double 20F/-6C Quilt
The Vela double quilt is for those who love freedom of movement and, most importantly, sleeping together. It provides freedom and comfort that extends your night’s sleep.
Movement
The Therm-a-rest Vela double quilt is like a duvet or a half sleeping bag, giving you the real opportunity to spread out and sleep in more natural and comfortable positions, especially if your partner doesn’t think the same way :-)
Temperature
The Therm-a-rest Vela double quilt is generally excellent at regulating temperature, which makes sense since it’s not a closed bag you sleep in.
You can easily open or loosen a side or part of the quilt to create natural air circulation if that’s what you feel like.
If you happen to encounter a cold night, that’s not a problem either because
the Therm-a-rest Vela is equipped with large channels along the sides that form a pillow around you.
The Vela quilt is stitched in large squares, which prevents cold bridges at the seams.
Packed size - compressed
The Therm-a-rest Vela double 20F/-6C quilt weighs only 1.27 kg and measures
23 x 41 cm when packed, which is very little compared to a regular single sleeping bag.
So it’s also perfect and great for long, perhaps romantic hikes that just need to be ultra lightweight.

Take good care of your Therm-a-rest Vela quilt and sleeping bag
After a trip, you should always hang your sleeping bag or quilt in a dry place, fully unpacked, and preferably turn it inside out and back again a couple of times over a few days.
When we sleep in our sleeping bag or quilt, we always release some moisture, which needs to be removed by airing it out to prevent mold and bad odors.
Let the sleeping bag/quilt hang in a closet in a dry place.
Down and fibers do not do well being compressed for long periods, as the structure of the fibers or down can be damaged, causing them to lose some of their insulating ability.
When you buy a Therm-a-rest Vela double quilt or a sleeping bag from Therm-a-rest, they always come with a large storage bag (in addition to the compression sack) to protect the down or fibers, which is simply a must.
