A proper firesteel is essential for making a fire. With a large striker from CUMA GEAR, you have the opportunity to create many sparks, optimizing your chances of quickly getting a fire going. The length of the paracord between the striker and firesteel makes it easy to handle.

Use the side of the striker, not the rounded end. This is by far the best way to use it.

Additionally, there is a built-in centimeter scale on the striker.

REMEMBER that all firesteels have a coating that protects them during transport from the factory. This coating needs to be worn off. After using it a few times, you will find it MUCH easier to start a fire. This applies to all firesteels on the market. You can also use some sandpaper to remove this coating from the firesteel the first time. This will almost guarantee success with your new striker.
