Description
Hultafors Qvarfot Forest Axe
A unique, hand-forged axe made in Hult, Sweden. It is especially suited for smaller felling tasks and splitting firewood by the campfire.
Why is the forest axe called Qvarfot?
Axes have been made in Hult since 1697, following ancient traditions. At a factory like Hult Bruks (named after the town), it was common for entire families to work there – this included the Qvarfot family, after whom this forest axe is named.
Why choose a long axe like this one?
The longer the handle, the safer it is to use. Simply put, the long handle keeps the axe head as far away from the body as possible. In the forest, you can advantageously use a tree stump still rooted in the ground as a chopping block.
