How does a Lifestraw Go 2 water filter work?
The filter is built as an ultra-fine mesh hollow fiber filter (Hollow fiber / Membrane filter). Imagine a bunch of tiny microscopic tubes (0.2 microns).
First, the water passes through the hollow fiber filter, which removes 99.999% of bacteria, parasites, and microplastics.
Then it passes through an activated carbon filter.
The activated carbon filter ensures the water is as clean and tasty as possible by removing chlorine, pesticides, and herbicides.

When is a Lifestraw Go 2 water filter suitable?

How long does a Lifestraw Go 2 filter last?
A Lifestraw Go 2 can filter about 1000 liters of water.
But since you don’t keep track of how many liters you’ve filtered, the way to know when it’s time to replace your filter is when the water becomes harder to filter through the bottle—you’ll notice the flow has changed and the water passes through less easily.
It’s better to replace it one time too many than one time too few; clean drinking water is a gift and unfortunately not something we can take for granted.
