The Optimus Svea gasoline burner is a legendary lightweight burner that was launched in 1918 and is one of the oldest and most iconic burners from Optimus. Svea was originally developed for mountaineers and expeditions in harsh conditions, where the burner's reliability and simple design were valued for its ability to function under challenging conditions where gas burners can fail.The Optimus Svea gasoline burner is made of sturdy brass and withstands rough use and extreme weather conditions. The Svea burner is simple in its design, with a built-in fuel tank, stepless flame control, a cleaning needle, and a lid with a removable handle that can be used as a small pot.
The small camping stove is compact and weighs only 550 g. It is therefore easy to carry in your pack when heading outdoors. You can use the lid as a cup / small pot, but you can also use other types of suitable outdoor pots and pans on the burner.The Svea burner has a power output of 1400 W and boils one liter of water in about 7 minutes.
It takes a bit of practice to get familiar with the burner, as the burner's tube system must be preheated to create sufficient pressure in the burner. First and foremost, it is important to place the Svea burner on a stable and fireproof surface. Preheating involves pouring a small amount of fuel (cleaning gasoline or alcohol) into the preheating tray and lighting it to warm the fuel tank and create the necessary pressure. It is important that the fuel supply from the tank is completely closed. When the flame is almost burned out, you slowly open the fuel supply from the tank. You can also let the flame burn out and then open the fuel supply slightly and ignite with a lighter or matches. The flame may be a bit uneven at first but will quickly stabilize once the burner reaches the correct temperature. Use the valve to adjust the flame as needed. NOTE: It is important not to fill the integrated fuel tank completely (fill 2/3 full - gives about 50 minutes of burn time), there must be room to create pressure inside the tank - and remember to only use cleaning gasoline as fuel.
