Reactor® Stove System 2.5 Liter - MSR
MSR undoubtedly makes the world's best and most reliable burners.
The Reactor Stove System is the pinnacle of gas stoves. You won’t find a more reliable gas burner system than this one. The Reactor series from MSR outperforms competitors in both boiling time and functionality by far, even in the harshest weather conditions.
The Reactor stove system is built for extreme weather conditions
Whether you are sitting on top of the French Alps or even higher mountains, it’s no problem—the built-in gas regulator ensures a stable gas flow even in high altitudes where air pressure is different.
The same goes for the Reactor regulator if the temperature is either very cold or very hot, as gas otherwise won’t leave the canister in cold weather or will flow too quickly in hot weather. Still, the Reactor series from MSR has the fastest boiling time compared to competitors.
The perfect storm pot
The Reactor pot is also very special.
It is designed to fit over the Reactor burner, and with its enclosing windscreen and built-in heat exchanger, you get a high-performance pot.
The large surface area that the burner transfers heat to means you don’t get “spot boiling” in the pot like with a normal gas stove, but instead the heat is distributed across the entire bottom and, in this case, also the sides of the bottom.
Incredibly fast and efficient.
Fuel savings
Gas is extra weight in your backpack, so it’s important to get as much out of the gas as possible so you don’t have to carry a bag full of gas.
The Reactor stove system gives you the best fuel economy on the market. The Reactor burner uses about half the gas in normal, calm weather compared to similar burners, and only 1/3 of the gas in bad weather conditions.
So you save both a lot of weight and a good amount of money on gas, thanks to the incredibly good and well-tested design.
The Reactor burner burns for about 80 minutes on a 227g gas canister.
