Description

Foraging bag in waxed canvas, leather, and brass – Durable and water-repellent quality.

For foraging and storing small outdoor gear - Choose between Olive or Coyote colors.

A foraging bag is great to bring if you want to go out into nature and collect edible plants, berries, herbs, flowers, and mushrooms.
It’s a gentle way to store the food you’ve foraged, as the waxed canvas holds its shape well.
The foraging bag can also be used for small twigs as kindling to start a fire or to store your smaller gear so you always have it close at hand.

The foraging bag is made of waxed canvas, which repels moisture and is very durable, and it features a leather closure and a brass snap button to keep the bag closed.

When not in use, the bag folds up and is secured with the same leather closure – so it takes up minimal space, and when you need it, it’s ready to unfold and fill.
You can easily attach the foraging bag to your belt, as there is a leather belt loop on the back. The belt loop is cleverly designed so you don’t have to take off your belt to attach or remove it, as the loop opens and closes with snap buttons.
The belt loop fits belts approximately 4.5 cm - 5 cm wide.

The foraging bag also has a brass D-ring where you can, for example, clip gear with a carabiner.
Additionally, there is a leather loop where you can secure your gloves or snake equipment.
The loop can also be unbuttoned if needed.

The foraging bag is available in two colors: Olive/Green and Coyote/Brown.

Uses for the foraging bag

  • Collecting edible plants, herbs, and mushrooms
  • Kindling or bark
  • Storing small equipment and gear at camp
  • Temporary trash bag or bag for storing carving waste
  • Folded, it can fit in your pocket as a backup bag

How to care for and maintain outdoor gear in waxed canvas:

    • Cleaning: Wipe the foraging bag with a damp cloth or a soft brush. Do not machine wash or use soap, as this can remove the wax. Let the bag air dry completely.
    • Waxing: If the surface starts to look dry or loses its water repellency, you can treat it with a suitable canvas wax, for example, this beeswax-based wax from Cuma Gear.
    • Applying wax: Warm the wax with a hairdryer or over low heat and rub it into the fabric. Pay special attention to folds and corners, as these areas often experience the most wear.
    • Storage: Store the foraging bag in a dry and airy place when not in use – it can be folded.

Waxed canvas is a fantastic material – it’s natural, durable, water-repellent, and develops a beautiful patina over time – these are just some of the reasons why the material is popular in outdoor and wilderness activities. To preserve the material’s durability and water-repellent properties, we recommend some maintenance.
