Description

LAKES AND STREAMS - LIFE ABOVE AND BELOW THE WATER SURFACE

Beautifully illustrated book about the wildlife in and around Denmark’s lakes and streams.

The book is for the whole family and can be used as a guide to identify the most common animals and plants – plus some less common but very exciting species.
Take the book, a small net, and a plastic tray on nature excursions, or read it as bedtime reading with older children, and you might even learn more about the nature and wildlife that surround us all.

As the author Michael Petersen writes;
In Denmark, there is water everywhere. Not only by the coasts but also all over the country. There is never far to a pond or a babbling brook.
If you go there, you cannot help but be captivated by the rich plant and animal life.

Michael Petersen is a trained veterinarian but early on changed career paths to become a visual artist and graphic designer. For 18 years, he worked at the Copenhagen Zoo, where his drawings and designs can be seen on signs and in exhibitions, including The Arctic Ring. Now he has returned to his roots, from when as a boy he went out with a net and jam jars to find water spiders and tadpoles.
