Description
Orange Firesteel – Fire Starter for Outdoor Life
Here you get a sturdy firesteel in a striking orange color.
This firesteel is kept very simple; it does not come with a striker or anything else. The idea is that you use the back of your knife to strike sparks. As they say in the bushcraft world, 'keep it simple'.
The orange color was chosen because it makes it easy to find the firesteel in your backpack or on the forest floor.
Whether you are a bushcrafter, hiker, camper, or survivalist, a firesteel is a great tool for starting fires in almost any conditions.
This orange firesteel can produce sparks up to 5,500 °F (3,000 °C), making it possible to start a fire even in wet and windy environments, and as you probably know, it can be used thousands of times.
Note – The orange color on the firesteel is a coating; when you use it for the first time, you need to scrape off some of the orange coating, and it’s enough to do this on one side to start with.
Handle Your Own Firesteel
You can simply tie a piece of paracord or a leather cord to the end (there is a hole for it), or you can find a nice piece of wood, or for example reindeer antler and make your own handle.
