A tarp made of waxed canvas, also known as oilskin, is honestly one of our favorite products. For us, the canvas tarp has just the right feel and provides the protection we need when we're out on a trip.

It does weigh a bit, admittedly, but for us, it’s totally worth it.
Whether it’s to provide shade from the sun’s rays, shelter from wind and gusts, or keep us dry when the rain falls, a canvas tarp is always our favorite. Just the sound of raindrops falling on oilskin is completely different from a regular nylon tarp (which definitely has its advantages too, I won’t deny that), and we love it!

A waxed canvas tarp is not for you if you’re going on an ultralight hike where having the lightest possible gear is super important. A waxed canvas tarp is for those who want strength and weight in their gear, who appreciate durability, and something that just gets better the more it’s used.

Our waxed canvas tarp measuring 2.9 x 2.9 meters is available in two colors, either coyote or olive – both super cool. There are sturdy tarp loops / attachment points all over the tarp, 5 on each side and 5 across the middle, plus brass eyelets on all loops along the tarp edge so it can be pegged firmly and close to the ground, while also giving you many different setup options.

Whether you choose your canvas tarp in olive or coyote, it comes with a leather strap you can fasten around the tarp when you’re not using it. Or to hold up your pants when you’re about to drop them because your new shelter is just that awesome ;)
