The Lauri Neck 42 is a super cool small knife blade for those who want to make their own knife.

You might initially think that making your own knife handle is difficult, but it’s not. We have created a detailed (and easy) guide for you, so you can handle your own Lauri Neck without major expenses or hassle. You’ll find the guide further down.

Now back to the Lauri Neck 42

The Lauri Neck 42 is forged by the legendary knife blade makers Laurin Metalli in Finland (founded in 1918).
The knife blade is forged from carbon steel (80CrV2), which makes it easy to maintain and sharpen to a razor edge, while also being affordable.
Here you really get excellent quality for the money!
Carbon steel does have the drawback of rusting more easily than stainless steel, but the advantage is that it’s easier to sharpen to a very sharp edge.
To keep your knife looking good, remember to wipe it dry when it gets wet and apply a little vegetable oil when needed.

You can make the handle for free with fresh wood, or buy a piece of completely dry handle wood for a small price (you can find it here). Both methods are explained in our guide.
