Brisa Polar SS 75 – Puukko Knife Blade in Stainless Steel
Create Your Own Knife with the Polar SS 75 Blade from Brisa
The Polar SS 75 is a classic puukko blade from Brisa, developed in collaboration with Lauri, who has made knife blades for Nordic use for many years.
It is a simple and sturdy blade based on the traditional Finnish knife – without unnecessary details. The shape is straightforward and works as it should, whether you use it for woodworking, cooking, or general outdoor use.
A Good Blade to Work With
The Polar SS 75 blade is made from stainless X50CrMoV15 steel, which is easy to maintain and requires little upkeep. It’s a great choice if you want a knife you can just use without worrying too much about rust and care.
The blade has a small ricasso (the flat section between the edge and the handle), which makes it easier to achieve a neat finish when you assemble the handle yourself. This is especially helpful if you haven’t made many knives before.
The sharpening is done so the blade becomes sharp while still holding the edge reasonably well during use.
For Those Who Want to Make Their Own Puukko Knife
The blade is delivered without a handle, so you can build the knife exactly how you want. This makes it perfect both for your first project and for those who have made knives before.
You can pair the blade with one of our beautiful handle woods, and if you need some inspiration, you can find help in our guide “Make Your Own Knife”.
