Outdoor Equipment for Children

Children's interest in things usually doesn't decrease when they have their own gear; on the contrary.

It gives them a feeling of being 'important' and on equal footing with us adults, which only increases their excitement about joining trips and participating in group activities.

Our experience is that children can do much more than we adults might think. That doesn't mean we shouldn't take care of them and guide them, but even younger children can learn to handle a knife, move safely around open fire, carry their own gear, etc., of course adapted to age, situation, and interest.

It's really cozy to whittle wood with your children, build dens, explore the forest. Just like almost all children love making twisted bread, hot cocoa, roasting sausages over an open fire, and not least having time, plenty of time with their parents, grandparents, or friends.

As parents and outdoor enthusiasts, we want to encourage everyone to take their children into nature, show them the joys and diversity, and maybe even equip them with their own gear.
